WWII BRITISH 1ST PATTERN FAIRBAIRN-SYKES SHORT FIGHTING KNIFE

** NEW ** WWII British 1st Pattern Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife with chequered knurled nickel finish grip and the iconic 1st Pattern wavy crossguard and ricasso shape etched with Wilkinson Sword logo. The reverse has faint traces of 'The F-S Fighting Knife', so as not to be legible, and the blade has been purposely shortened to a length of 4.5 ins to fit into a small custom-made leather and metal scabbard.

It is likely that this weapon was fashioned by the owner for increased concealment, whilst being more suited to the 'silent kill' Commando technique.

The F-S Fighting Knife detail may have been removed so as to disguise the fact that it is a lethal weapon, if captured.
