Alfred Eric Ashley was the son of Alfred and Florence Ashley and husband of Nellie May Ashley of Broseley. Ashley served with the 25th Field Battry, Royal Artillery in India before WWII and was serving with the 556th Coast Regiment, Royal Artillery when he died on 28 Mar 1945, aged 35 years, buried at Barrow (St. Giles) Church Cemetery.
