Description

Denis Carey was born in 1859 and served with the East Lancashire Regiment as Ensign on 1 May 1878, made Lieutenant on 7 Aug 1879, Captain 18 Apr 1885, Major 18 Mar 1895, serving with the Chitral Relief Force and finally promoted to the rank of Lt. Col. on 30 Oct 1902.
