George Hunt was born on 13 Jul 1893 and lived at 73 Campbell Road, Walmer, Kent, working as a Butcher's Porter before enlisting with the Royal Marine Light Infantry on 28 Oct 1910.
Hunt served aboard Q-Ship Q.24 "Laggan" (ex-Pladda) cargo ship conversion from 14 Feb 1917 until the end of the war.
Hunt was awarded the Royal Navy Long Service & Good Conduct Medal on 5 Sep 1926.
