Description

Gough was Killed in a railway accident at Frederickstad on 30 July 1900.

13 of the regiment were killed and 32 injured. The following is a newspaper extract from the Wellington Journal 28 Apr 1900 entitled Shropshire and the War:

'On Monday three more members of the Market Drayton Co. of the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, K.S.L.I., left the town for Shrewsbury, prior to their departure to South Africa to join the regiment already out there. They were Privates T. Gough and W. Holland of Market Drayton and H. Jones of Cheswardine.'
