Frank Rudman was born in Pewsey, Marlborough in 1874, the son of Jon Rudman and enlisted with the Coldstream Guards on 11 Feb 1892, posted to South Africa on 21 Oct 1899 and imprisoned for drunkeness on 9 May 1901, entitled to the Queen's South Africa Medal with Cape Colony, Driefontein, Johannesburg and Diamond Hill clasps in addition to this medal.
