Description

William Daubey (sometimes 'Daubly') was born in West Derby, Liverpool and attested with the 2nd Dragoons on 11 Jan 1855 in Liverpool, transferring to the 1st Dragoon Guards on 17 Feb 1855 and serving in the Crimea at Sebastopol, promoted to Corporal on 6 Aug 1857 and serving during the 2nd China War from April 1860.

Daulbey's conduct was described as 'very good' and 'in possession of Crimean Medal with clasp for Sebastopol, Turkish Medal, China Medal with clasps for Taku Forts and Pekin, also Medal for Long Service and Good Conduct', discharged on 13 Mar 1876.
