Description

Andrew Sharman was born in Braceborough, Lincolnshire, the son of William Sharman, working as a servant prior to his enlistment with the 17th Lancers on 26 May 1852. Sharman is on the roll of the 17th Lancers for these clasps of Alma, Balaklava and Inkermann clasps and is recorded in Lummis & Wynn's 'Honour the Light Brigade' and is recorded as dying on 14 Dec 1854 in Camp, Crimea'. Sharman's 17th Lancers brooch-mounted badge sold with James Mustard's Charge of the Light Brigade Crimea Medal in Morton & Eden's sale of 15 Dec 2006.
