James Cook was born in Cullompton, Devon in 1829 and attested with the 13th Foot on 14 Feb 1846 at Taunton, further entitled to the Crimea Medal with Sebastopol clasp, Turkish Crimea Medal and Indian Mutiny Medal with no clasp, finally dischharged on 13 Apr 1868.
