WWI WAR MEDAL TO O.S.2 W. MOKLER, H.M.S. CHEERFUL (K.I.A. 1917)

Walter Mokler was born on 19 Sep 1893 in Walthamstow, the son of Edward and Amelia Mokler of 28 Addison Road, Walthamstow, London and was serving as Officer's Steward 2nd Class abaord H.M.S. Cheerful on 30 June 1917 when she was sunk by a mine off the Shetland Islands. He is remembered on the Chatham Naval Memorial.
