** NEW ** WWI medals to two soldiers of the 1/6th Welsh Regiment who were allocated consecutive regimental numbers, consisting of: 1914 Star to 1347 Pte. S. Buckland, 1/6 Welsh R.; WWI Victory Medal to 1347 Pte. S. Buckland, 1/6 Welsh R. and 1914 Star to 1348 Pte. E. Jones, 1/6 Welsh R.; WWI Victory Medal to 1348 Pte. E. Jones, Welsh R. That the WWI War Medals are missing from both trios suggests that the same custodian smelted them for silver content.

Description

Stanley Buckland was born in St. Mary's, Swansea in 1890 and enlisted with the 1/6th (Glamorganshire) Battalion in Swansea on 22 Apr 1912 entered France on 29 Oct 1914 before transferring to the Royal Engineers, Glamorgan Fortress on 28 Mar 1917. Evan Jones entered France with the same battalion and, as Buckland, on 29 Oct 1914.
