Charles Weston was born in Newchapel, Staffordshire and enlisted with the South Wales Borderers on 9 Apr 1915, entering France on 5 Sep 1915, serving in Salonika and transferring to the King's Liverpool Regiment, contracting malaria on 26 June 1918.
