Description

The Princess Mary 1914 tins contained a number of gifts intended to be distributed to all members of the armed forces of the British Empire serving on The Front on Christmas Day 1914, originally containing items such as tobacco, a lighter or a shaving brush. They were funded by the ‘Sailors & Soldiers Christmas Fund’ which was created by Princess Mary, the 17-year-old daughter of King George V and Queen Mary.
