Description

Edward James and John Henry Davies were the twin sons of George and Caroline Davies of Hubberston, Pembrokeshire, both born on 18 Oct 1896 and baptised on 18 Dec 1896 at St Davids' Church, Hubberston, Milford Haven. The family lived in a cottage at Havenshead, Hubberston, Milford Haven. Edward served with the 8th (Pioneer) Battalion, Welsh Regiment, landing in Gallipoli on 29 Oct 1915 and was Killed In Action on 9 Feb 1917. He is buried at Amara War Cemetery and commemorated on the Hubberston War Memorial.

John Henry attested with the 9th (Service) Battalion, Welsh Regiment on 18 May 1915 at Haverfordwest and posted to France on 18 July 1915, transferring to the Quarrying Coy., Royal Engineers.
