Description

Leonard Lounsbury was born in Petitcodiac, New Brunswick, Canada and lived in Forrest, Manitoba, working as a farmer. Enlisting with the 181st Overseas Battalion, C.E.F. in Brandon, Manitoba on 13 May 1916, arriving in England on the S.S. Grampian on 29 Apr 1917 and posted with the 8th Battalion (90th Winnipeg Rifles), Lounsbury was reported missing in action and presumed dead on 10 Nov 1917, commemorated at the Menin Gate Memorial.
