Description

Martin Gallagher lived at 15 Rosalyn St., Nottingham and attested with the Army Service Corps on 13 Oct 1915 and entered France on 30 Oct 1915 before transferring to the 22nd Coy. Labour Corps. LZ85 was a "P" Class Zeppelin of the Imperial German Army which was shot down by the old British pre-dreadnough battleship H.M.S. Agamemnon in 1916 during Salonika campaign and crashed in the Vardar marshes. MTB 18 also scored a hit and the Royal Marine detachment entred the marshes in search of the crew who were captured by French cavalrymen.
