Description

M.B.E. Gazetted 3 June 1919. Hubert Porter Blunt was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire in Jan 1882, the son of Thomas Porter Blunt and Emily Rachel Robinson. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant with the 3rd Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment on 13 Mar 1915, Blunt disembarked in France on 5 May 1915, attached to the 1st Battalion and recorded as wounded on 2 Jan 1916. Latterly, attached to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, Blunt served with the Ministry of Munitions.
