Description

Robert Robertson was born in Glasgow on 16 Dec 1889, the son of James Robertson of 9 Smith Street, Kinning Park, Glasgow and entered France on 9 July 1915 as a Piper with the 8th Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders.

Serving with "C" Company on the first day of The Battle of Loos, Robertson was wounded by a rifle shot to the back on 25 Sep 1915 and taken Prisoner of War, held at Munsterlager and repatriated aboard the S.S. Accrington to Hull on 30 Dec 1918.
