Description

John McCormack served under the alias of James Hall and was born in St. Nicholas, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, the son of Mrs Margaret McCormack of 8 Silver St., Newcastle. Enlisting with the 9th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment at Grantham, Lincolnshire, McCormack landed in Gallipoli on 11 July 1915 and was Killed In Action on 21 Aug 1915, commemorated on the Helles Memorial.
