Description

George Frederick and Edwin Samuel Turtle were the only sons of Frederick William and Sarah Jane Turtle and born in St. Pancras in 1896 and 1898, respectively, and lived at 47 Frederick Street, Grays Inn Road, London. George disembarked in Egypt with the 2nd/3rd London Regiment on 15 Nov 1915, admitted to 18th General Hospital on 9 Mar 1917 and discharged due to wounds on 18 Nov 1918.

Edwin Samuel Turtle entered France with the 13th (City of London) Battalion, Royal Fusiliers on 8 Sep 1918 and was Killed In Action on 24 Oct 1918. He is commemorated at Beaurain British Cemetery.
