Description

John Perkins was born in Edwyn Ralph, Bromyard, Herefordshire in 1887, the eldest son of Thomas and Jane Perkins, who worked as waggoners on a farm at 2 Court Cottage, Edwyn Ralph.

Attesting with the Royal Horse Artillery on 9 Feb 1917 during WWI, John Perkins was serving with "H" Battery, R.H.A. and suffered a fracture to the left clavicle on parade on 6 Dec 1918.

William Samuel Perkins was the younger brother of John and also born in Edwyn Ralph in 1896, enlisting with the 3rd/1st Battalion, Herefordshire Regiment on 9 May 1915 and entitled to the pair of War & Victory Medals only.
