Montague William Leighton was born in Tulse Hill, London and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant with the 14th (County of London) Battalion, The London Regiment (London Scottish), entering France on 26 Jan 1918 and admitted to 19th General Hospital, discharged on 22 May 1918.
