Sergeant Jackson is confirmed on the roll as entitled to both medals and the Khartoum clasp and a confirmed charger at Omdurman with "C" Company, 21st Lancers.

The charge of the 21st Lancers against the right flank of 52,000 Mahdist warriors took place on the morning of 2 Sep 1898. Among those present was a 23-year-old Winston Churchill as well as Captain Douglas Haig.
