Description

Leonard William Taylor was born in Birmingham and worked as a machinist before enlisting with the Shropshire Light Infantry on 4 June 1894, passing his Mounted Infantry course on 16 June 1899 and posted to South Africa on 10 Oct 1899. He was severely wounded on 16 July 1900 at Rietvlei and invalided to England on 15 Sep 1900, discharged as medically unfit for further service on 12 June 1901.
