Albert Sedgwick was born in St. Mary's, Shrewsbury, Shropshire on 6 Aug 1879 and worked as a Carriage Cleaner, serving with the 2nd Battalion, King's Shropshire Light Infantry and recorded as 'Missing' at Braakfontein and rejoining the regiment on 18 Aug 1900. Reenlisting with the 3rd Battalion, K.S.L.I. at Shrewsbury on 5 Oct 1914, Sedgwick was entitled to the WWI War Medal & Victory Medal Pair before succumbing to wounds and being discharged on 12 Apr 1917.
