Description

Military Medal Gazetted 13 Mar 1919: "Before the action on October 1, at Joncourt, he carried out a reconnaissance under heavy machine-gun and shell fire, and behaved in a very gallant manner as runner during the action, carrying messages which were all delivered. On other occasions he has shown great devotion to duty in action."

Wilfred Jospeh Perrins was born in Chaddesley Corbett, Worcestershire on 25 Sep 1896, the son of Joseph and Sabrina Emily Perrins, working as an apprentice grocer, before enlisting with the 1st Regiment of Life Guards and entering France on 19 May 1915 and transferring to the 9th Battalion Tank Corps.
