Description

George Mason entered France on 7 Oct 1914 with the 2nd Battalion, Gordon Highlanders on 27 Nov 1914 and admitted to hospital. After briefly transferring to the Scottish Rifles, he returned to his former regiment and was promoted Sergeant. He was awarded the Long Service & Good Conduct Medal in 1927 and received this regimental pocket watch to mark the achievement.
