Description

Nelson Robert Sears was born in Highworth, Wiltshire in 1889 and enlisted on 17 Dec 1906 with the Wiltshire Regiment and was posted to France with the 2nd Battalion as part of the 7th Division, 21st Infantry Brigade on 7 Oct 1914 and was taken Prisoner of War on 24 Oct 1914 at Ypres. After returning to Hull on 11 Dec 1918 at the end of the war, Sears served until 16 Dec 1927 and was entitled to the Long Service & Good Conduct Medal. He became a member of the regimental branch of the R.A.O.B. and died in 1932, aged 44.
