Description

Mark Thomas Altham Joyce was educated at Radley College and commissioned into the Queen's Dragoon Guards from R.M.A. Sandhurst on 18 Dec 1970, promoted to Lieutenant on 18 June 1972 and Captain on 18 Dec 1976 and retired to Reserve of Officers on 1 Mar 1994. Joyce was part of the GB 4-man bobsleigh team in the 1978 World Championships. He was famed for bringing back a Russian Ural truck to the UK from the First Iraq War. On leaving the army Joyce worked for GKN Defence and for Alvis Ltd. as a Training Advisor.
