Harold Jolly served with the Territorial Force, Royal Garrison Artillery during WWI and was promoted Captain and Temporary Major in 1916, Mentioned In Despatches 18 May 1917, finally reaching the rank of Lt. Col. in 1921, serving with the 58th Essex & Suffolk T.A., R.G.A. and awarded the Territorial Decoration 11 Nov 1918, being entitled to the WWI pair of War & Victory Medals, Territorial Force War Medal and Territorial Decoration George V.
