Description

William Frederick Geeson was born in Grantham, Lincolnshire, the son of Mr & Mrs F. Geeson of 42 Salisbury Ave., Melton Mowbray, and working as a Midlands Railways Porter, enlisting there on 31 Dec 1914. Posted to France with the 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards on 17 July 1915, Geeson was wounded on The Somme in March 1916, with notification of his wounding and admission to hospital being published in the Melton Times 31 Mar 1916.
