Description

Christopher Seymour was born in Liverpool and lived on Marsh Street, Kirkdale, Liverpool, working as a labourer. Enlisting on 21 Mar 1892 at Warrington, Seymour was posted to South Africa with the 1st Battalion, South Lancashire Regiment on 30 Nov 1999, serving there throughout to 26 Aug 1902, before being transferred to the Army Reserve. Re-enlisting on 9 Sep 1914 following the outbreak of war, Seymour was posted to France with the 3rd Battalion, South Lancashire Regiment on   16 Feb 1915. After joining the 2nd Battalion, Seymour was wounded on 15 Mar 1915 and invalided from Rouen to England, recovering from an operation to join teh 3rd Battalion, Cheshire Regiment and posted to Gibraltar from 18 Aug 1915 to 10 Dec 1918.
