Description

James Duggan served with the 51st (2nd Yorkshire West Riding) Regiment of Foot and was present during the Jowaki operations on the North West Frontier from 9 Nov 1877 to 19 Jan 1878, before seeing service during the Second Afghanistan War, being present at Ali Musjid on 21 Nov 1878 and therfore entitled to an Afghanistan Medal. Colonel J. Hodgkinson (7643), 4th K.O.Y.L.I. was awarded the Military Cross before serving in WWII and had retired by the time the 4th clasp to his Territorial Decoration was awarded in the London Gazette of 28 June 1955.
