Description

M.C. Gazetted 3 Jun 1918, M.I.D. Gazetted 11 Dec 1917 and 7 Nov 1919. Robert McLeod Chapman was born on 23 June 1887 in Morningside, Edinburgh, attesting for the Queen’s Westminster Rifles on 8 Nov 1904 transferring to the Reserve 1 Apr 1912, he was mobilised on 6 Aug 1914 and landed in France with the 1/16th Battalion London Regiment on 1 Nov 1914. He was Commissioned on 25 Sep 1915 to the 14th (Service) Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Demobilised 6 February 1919.
