        4.Returns

4.1 Guarantee
It is War & Son’s aim that all items advertised on this web site are of original period manufacture unless stated otherwise. War & Son does not intentionally deal in any copy or replica medals or militaria.

4.2 Descriptions
Items are described according to our best ability and knowledge. Statements by War & Son on the website, whether description, context or condition, made orally or in writing elsewhere, regarding the authorship, origin, date, age, size, medium, attribution, genuineness, provenance or condition are merely statements of opinion and are not to be relied on as statements of definitive fact. War & Son’s images are for guidance only and should not be relied on either to determine the tone or colour of any item or to reveal imperfections. Many items are of an age or nature which precludes their being in perfect condition and some descriptions or condition reports may refer to damage and/or restoration. We provide this information for guidance only and the absence of such a reference does not imply that an item is free from defects or restoration, nor does a reference to particular defects imply the absence of any others.

4.3 Terms of description
The expressions 'Gold', 'Silver' or 'Bronze' relate to the grade of the medal/award or the appearance or plating finish of metal items and does not always imply a solid metal content of this description unless otherwise stated.

4.4 Definition of forgery or fake
War & Son defines a ‘forgery’ or ‘fake’ as an item constituting an imitation originally conceived and executed as a whole with a fraudulent intention to deceive as to authorship, origin, age, period or source where the correct description as to such matters is not reflected by the description on the website and which has a value materially significantly less than it would have had if it had been in accordance with the description in the catalogue. No item shall be capable of being a forgery or fake by reason of any damage and/or restorative work of any kind.

4.5 Liability
War & Son will not be liable (whether in negligence, other tort, breach of contract or statutory duty or in restitution or under the Misrepresentation Act 1967 or Sale of Goods Act 1979, or in any other way) for any lack of conformity with or inaccuracy, error, misdescription or omission in any description or statement on the website or made in writing or orally or by conduct or otherwise.

4.6 Returns policy
Should you be able to satisfy us that an item is a forgery or fake (as defined by 4.3), contact us by email within 5 days of receipt of items. In the event that War & Son are of the opinion that the supplier's item is a forgery or fake, we will provide a full refund of purchase price once the items are returned within a further 7 days for UK (14 days outside the UK). This is provided the items remain in exactly the condition sent. If the purchase has been made via Paypal, their fees are not refundable.

4.7 Loss/Damage in transit
Whilst every effort is made to provide secure, bespoke packaging for fragile items, we cannot guarantee for breakages of glazing in transit. In such cases we will consider costs of replacement of the glazing, since our items are unique antiques and full replacements cannot be issued.
